The Opposition
We like to be positive, speak only of the positive attributes of Democratic candidates, reach across the isle, etc. but the year in 2026 there we have to point to the problems with our opposition, especially with influences from the current US administration affecting our local politics.

DFL claims GOP candidate for Minnesota Governor will “emulate” Trump after his many pro-Trump statements

Aliens - a taste of Trump’s evil mind, paid for with your taxes.
The Trump variation of Woody Guthrie’s song, with lyrics that went,
“This land is my land, this land is my land
From California to the New York island
From my cryptocurrency to the Qatari 747
This land belongs to me and mine.”

The Biggest Cost of Trump
It goes far beyond guns vs. butter

I used to think the major tradeoff was between “guns and butter” — between defending the nation and attending to our most pressing social needs.
That view put the federal budget at the center of debate. And it assumed a zero-sum game in which the more we spent on the military, the less we had for the poor. As Ike said in 1953, “Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.”
But that old zero-sum game isn’t the biggest cost Trump is imposing on us.

Mike Lindell, Trump’s sycophant, choice for Minnesota Governor. He’s really dedicated to Minnesota - yah sure…
Mike Lindell is not registered to vote in Minnesota. According to a review by The Minnesota Star Tribune, Lindell maintains an active voter registration in Texas, where he previously lived, and the Minnesota Secretary of State’s office confirmed he does not have an active voting record in the state.
Although Minnesota law only requires gubernatorial candidates to be eligible to vote (not currently registered) and to have resided in the state for one year, Lindell stated he was unsure of his registration status. He promised to register in Minnesota before the August 11 Republican primary and insisted he would not vote in Texas, noting it is illegal to cast ballots in multiple states
